A celebration was held on September 8th 2008 celebrating the official kickoff of the Melody Project. Arvid Hallén, CEO Research Council of Norway and Morten Reymert, CEO Rikshospitalet University Hospital paricipated. A common thread in the project is ultra wide band technology (UWB). The focus of the project is network communication and handling of multiple sensors, positioning systems, tracking systems and guidance of small robots inside the body.

Topic #1 (communication technology)

There were 42 applications for three PhD positions in this topic. There were 6 short listed applicants, who were interviewed. The offer will be made to the selected candiates as soon as the different search committees at NTNU have approved the selection.

There were 17 applicantions for one Postdoc position in this topic. The number of positions has been increased to 2. There were 5 short listed applicants, who were interviewed. The offer will be made to the selected candiates as soon as the different search committees at Rikshospitalet have approved the selection.

The Research Councils VERDIKT program writes..... PDF Print E-mail

The VERDIKT program's newsletter of May 2008, the Research Council wrote "Cheaper and better visualization using ultra wideband technology for medical applications is anticipated in the MELODY project".
